چکیده
Guiding plasmon waves is based on dielectric/metal interfaces. The wedge-shaped interface shows an excellent capacity in the tight lightwave confinement at deep-subwavelength propagation mode size. Several types of metals have also been investigated for guiding waves. Among them, Ag metal a wave ability superior to other metals, however, it sensitive operating medium and easily oxidized. To overcome these drawbacks, wedge covered by protective thin oxide layer proposed. Numerically results show that length silicon dioxide can be enhanced factor 7.5 while its figure merit least 1.7 times larger than Au waveguide. advantage proposed potential developing plasmonic waveguide components.

Surface plasmon modes of finite, planar, metal-insulator-metal plasmonic waveguides.
The numerical analysis of finite planar metal-insulator-metal waveguide structures using the transfer-matrix formalism reveals both bound and leaky surface plasmon (SP) modes. The dispersion relations, propagation lengths and confinement factors of these SP modes are presented. The highest energy SP mode consists of non-radiative (bound) and radiative (leaky) portions separated by a spectral ga...
متن کاملWave Propagation Characteristics on a Covered Conductor
A wave propagation characteristic is very significant to investigate a transient voltage and insulation design of a cable. This paper carries out an experiment and a simulation of wave propagation characteristics on an insulation covered conductor in comparison with a bare conductor. The simulations are carried out using Electro Magnetic Transient Program (EMTP) and Finite Difference Time Domai...
متن کاملHybrid plasmonic waveguides formed by metal coating of dielectric ridges.
Bound hybrid plasmon-polariton modes supported by waveguides, which are formed by gold coating of ridges etched into a silica substrate, are analyzed using numerical simulations and investigated experimentally using near-field microscopy at telecom wavelengths (1425-1625 nm). Drastic modifications of the fundamental mode profile along with changes in the mode confinement and propagation loss ar...
متن کاملSurface plasmon modes in graphene wedge and groove waveguides.
Surface plasmon modes at terahertz-infrared waveband in subwavelength graphene wedge and groove waveguides are investigated, which can be categorized into perfect electric conductor and perfect magnetic conductor symmetric modes with different propagation characteristics. The electromagnetic near-fields are localized strongly in different regions for these two kinds of modes. Moreover, these mo...
متن کاملSpoof plasmon analogue of metal-insulator-metal waveguides.
We describe the properties of guided modes in metallic parallel plate structures with subwavelength corrugation on the surfaces of both conductors, which we refer to as spoof-insulator-spoof (SIS) waveguides, in close analogy to metal-insulator-metal (MIM) waveguides in plasmonics. A dispersion relation for SIS waveguides is derived, and the modes are shown to arise from the coupling of convent...
